Our reputation for delivering exceptional client care, combined with our deep-rooted expertise in family law, has earned us the trust of generations of clients. We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Family Law to lead our highly respected family law department.

The Role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated solicitor with 5-8 years PQE in Family Law to take the next step in their career and join our management team as the Head of Family Law. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with ambition, leadership skills, and a passion for family law to lead a thriving department and help shape its future direction.

You will manage and grow the department while continuing to provide exceptional legal services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Family Law department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services to clients.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight, driving the department's growth and success.
  • Manage a varied caseload of complex family law matters, including:
    • Divorce
    • Financial settlements
    • Child arrangements
    • Domestic violence
  • Mentor and support junior solicitors and paralegals within the department, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Manage departmental budgets and contribute to the firm's overall business development strategy.
  • Maintain a focus on client care, ensuring that all clients receive the highest standard of service.
  • Represent the firm in the family law community, maintaining and enhancing the firm's reputation and visibility.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in family law, and ensure the department remains compliant with relevant regulations and best practises.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • A qualified solicitor with 5-8 years PQE in Family Law.
  • Panel Membership with a recognised panel.
  • Strong experience in handling a wide range of family law matters, including complex financial disputes, child arrangements, and domestic abuse cases.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to manage change and drive growth within the department.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.
  • A genuine passion for family law and helping individuals through difficult times.
