Large Loss Team  Liverpool  £40,000 - £55,000  A national Large Loss team is seeking a lawyer to provide expert legal services for claims involving severe injuries and complex insurance issues. This team handles claims exceeding £350,000, totaling over £800 million in client reserves. Cases include brain, spinal, and amputation injuries, as well as substantial dependency fatality claims.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist partners and manage a caseload of catastrophic and high-value personal injury cases.
  • Conduct initial investigations, report to clients, and prepare internal strategy reports.
  • Review and analyze databases, conducting further investigations as necessary.
  • Liaise with solicitors, insurers, police, HSE, and witnesses to gather evidence.
  • Instruct various experts as required.
  • Manage the Case Manager Diary and action lists.
  • Attend court hearings, conferences, and Joint Settlement Meetings (JSMs) as directed.
  • Draft letters, reports, reserve sheets, and action plans.
  • Supervise and develop junior team members.
  • Complete client and firm Management Information (MI) procedures.
  • Comply with Data Protection and CPR protocols.
  • Stay updated with legal developments in high-value personal injury.
  • Achieve set financial and chargeable targets/KPIs.
  • Adhere to deadlines and quality measures.
  • Follow client and company policies and procedures.
  • Work according to the firm's values.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  Candidate Profile
  • Experience: Approximately 3 years+ PQE solicitor with experience managing a defendant personal injury litigation caseload (Motor or EL/PL preferred).
  Skills:
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of CPR procedures and technical ability.
  • Efficient and effective diary and caseload management.
  • Attributes: Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
