Our client are recruiting for a Transport Manager at their brand new site in Halewood on the night shift to provide a strategic and dynamic transport solution whilst expanding a demanding a more versatile customer base.In-depth transport and operations experience is required to ensure transport matches current customer growth, diversity, compliance and health and safety requirements.Salary £31,000 per annum plus 20% shift allowanceMonday to Friday with optional overtime at weekendsShift 10am to 6amLots of additional company benefitsTraining given as neededProgression opportunities availableYou must have a leading approach towards health and safety.  Must work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Be capable of producing KPI's and reports for senior management. You must also be able to work for a demanding customer base and adapt to pressurised situations using your own recognised and direct reporting structure.General Accountabilities: Responsibility for in excess of 30 vehicles  Responsibility for 40 plus trailers  Managing a core driver workforce of 50 drivers  Managing and tracking agency drivers  Liaising with 10 satellite bases through out the Midlands and Northwest on a daily basis to ensure customer satisfaction  Full responsibility for fleet compliance, fleet management, fleet track and trace also damage and accident and personal injury reporting  Training and awareness for core and agency  Annual assessments  Fleet audits  O license compliance Active leadership and responsible health and safety   Professional appearance and approachLocal Accountabilities :Contracted performance penalties from the customer  Stringent SLA's  Environmental responsibility  Weekly budget and target performances  Contractual cost down targets          Resources Fully trained and motivated driver workforce.   Lead agency accessible daily.   Access to 3 A1 trained assessors.   Supplement of 4 driver trainers.   Resource department situated within wider transport operation.   Support hands on management structure within the operation.   Full time fleet administrator at every satellite.   Sub contractor manager situated in wider transport operation.  24 hour manned status department..  Fleet tracking (Microlise and Axscend and fleet board).    General Competencies:Making Customers More SuccessfulShaping DirectionDriving High PerformanceDeveloping OthersDeveloping Self Specific Skills/Experience required for role:       Strong interpersonal skills Objective setting Effective communication Presentation Skills Min 3 years based in transport supply chain Working to time sensitive deadlines Time management Computer literary skills  intermediate or above Languages English - Fluent, other languages - desirable   Any Other Requirements:CPC national and international - desirable  Microlise experience  - desirable  Tachomaster experience  -desirable  Familiarity with trade union environment  - desirable If the above role sounds of interest to you and you have the relevant skills and experience please apply today
