Assistant Design Manager
My client is an established construction group who specialise in the building, refurbishment, and maintenance of affordable and social rented properties for Housing Associations. They have a requirement for an Assistant Design Manager to join their business on a freelance basis.
Job Purpose and Scope:
- Reporting to the Design Manager, you will support the daily management of design activities across the project. You will be responsible for coordinating with Design Consultants, ensuring effective communication between them and the project team on design-related matters. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Site Manager and Preconstruction team when necessary, assisting in the development of design packages and procurement strategies.
Accountabilities and Key Tasks:
- Understand and align with client requirements and output specifications.
- Assist in reviewing, or if needed, directly review the design, procurement, and construction information to ensure compliance with project documentation.
- Support the review of design deliverables and verify that they meet client output specifications, Contract Proposals, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and submit monthly activity reports to the Design Manager.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Design Management Plan (DMP).
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate.
