Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Manager to lead daily operations, manage a team of engineers, and act as the technical authority within our organisation. This office-based role requires a professional with a robust technical background in ASHP systems, strong leadership abilities, and the capacity to optimise processes while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the ASHP team, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Develop and implement workflows, best practices, and safety protocols to boost operational efficiency.
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs, preparing reports on project statuses, team productivity, and quality assurance.
- Ensure all projects and services comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
2. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ASHP engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, setting individual and team goals, providing feedback, and supporting career development.
- Facilitate ongoing training and certification opportunities to ensure engineers remain updated with industry standards and technological advancements.
3. Technical Expertise & Support:
- Serve as the technical expert for all ASHP-related queries, offering guidance on troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring compliance with technical standards.
- Support engineering teams with problem-solving during installations, commissioning, and servicing of ASHP systems.
- Collaborate with design and sales teams to assess project requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and ensure technical accuracy in proposals.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Liaise with senior management, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment of project requirements, expectations, and timelines.
- Prepare and present technical and operational reports, sharing insights and recommendations with key stakeholders.
- Manage client relationships by addressing technical inquiries, ensuring clear communication, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, technologies, and services, implementing changes to optimise efficiency and performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the ASHP sector.
- Recommend and manage investments in tools, software, or technology to enhance team capabilities and project outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of ASHP systems, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience managing or supervising engineering teams, ideally within the HVAC or renewable energy sector.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and developing technical teams, with strong people management abilities.
- Project Management: Skilled in project planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring within a technical setting.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to make quick, effective decisions.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrates precision and accuracy, with a keen eye for quality and safety.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in ASHP or HVAC systems preferred (e.g., F-Gas Certification, Heat Pump Installation Certifications).
