Production Manager, Salary: up to £45k + excellent benefits package, Based; Speke, Liverpool

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager to join a market leading organisation who are committed to the growth of their people. This is a production / Workshop / manufacturing process driven environment.

Candidates will need to have proven experience in a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager or similar role with a track record of delivering on targets, quality, process (lean and continuous improvement) and H&S within in a relevant environment.

Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager Key duties:

  • To ensure the safety and welfare of the employees, plant & equipment and Production area, drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, process & productivity and mitigate risks to executing plan.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety within the workshop, embedding a H&S culture.
  • To execute the daily production plan, ensure productivity is maximised and quality levels to meet customer demand.
  • Manage, develop and motivate a team
  • Define human resource requirements to fulfil labour type and hours allocated in order to deliver production output efficiently in line with Logistics plan.
  • To control measurable costs across the Production facility including efficiencies, absence, downtime, overtime, labour and consumables, with the aim of maximising business profitability through operating within departmental budget targets. Vary accordingly with volume movements.
  • To effectively manage; workshop staff performance, tools and resources to produce completed units efficiently in line with planned requirements.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role e.g. Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or similar within a production, manufacturing or engineering environment
  • P+L understanding for material and labour cost control.
  • Demonstrable experience in building, leading and developing a team to optimise their performance.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of Lean fundamentals and continuous improvement within manufacturing  
  • Experience of managing Health and Safety
  • Experience of delivering results against operational, service, quality, safety and cost targets
