Mechanical Design Engineer - MC270366

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be designing and developing mechanical engineering aspects of complex machinery to a project specification and in line with project schedules, technical regulations and business objectives.



Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

  • Confer with engineers, customers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
  • Design, implement, maintain and improve process equipment, components, products and systems.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Direct and co-ordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with all mechanical aspects of specifications, codes and customer requirements.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish process compliance relating to site installations, industry standards and specifications.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of mechanical materials and equipment.
  • Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.


Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Qualification
    • Light to medium sheet metal and welding design knowledge
    • Has worked with complex assemblies
    • Experience of Designing of Machined Parts
    • Geometric tolerancing experience.
    • Piping design knowledge
    • SolidWorks (desirable)
    • Pharmaceutical / pressure vessel experience (desirable)
    • Experience in a highly regulated heavy industry


Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary dependent on experience but likely £35k-£40k

  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Monday-Friday with a 1pm Friday finish
  • Income protection & EAP (doctors app, mental health support & general wellbeing)
  • 25 days plus BH (we do operate a Christmas shutdown that uses 3 of these days)
  • 4% Employer & 4% employee - Legal & General
  • RAC cover
