Your new roleAs a Mechanical Technician, you will:

  • Proactively maintain and operate plant and equipment
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Maximise equipment effectiveness and efficiency
  • Conduct regular checks and servicing for preventative maintenance
  • Report faults or defects promptly
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (pumps, hydraulic systems, bridges, dock gates, etc.)

What you'll need to succeedYou should have:

  • Mechanical engineering background, preferably in heavy industry
  • Experience with hydraulic equipment, pumps, lock gates, bridges, and PLC equipment
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance
  • Ability to uphold health and safety standards, create Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Understanding of Permit to Work systems
  • Experience with CMMS systems and fault reporting
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR)
