Your new roleAs a Mechanical Technician, you will:
- Proactively maintain and operate plant and equipment
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Maximise equipment effectiveness and efficiency
- Conduct regular checks and servicing for preventative maintenance
- Report faults or defects promptly
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (pumps, hydraulic systems, bridges, dock gates, etc.)
What you'll need to succeedYou should have:
- Mechanical engineering background, preferably in heavy industry
- Experience with hydraulic equipment, pumps, lock gates, bridges, and PLC equipment
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance
- Ability to uphold health and safety standards, create Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Understanding of Permit to Work systems
- Experience with CMMS systems and fault reporting
- Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR)
