The School and Role
Vision for Education is looking for enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to work on a flexible, supply basis in secondary schools across Merseyside. This role is ideal for individuals with experience managing groups of children, whether in an educational setting or other environments such as youth work, sports coaching, or extracurricular activities.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into classrooms to supervise lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with pre-planned work. Schools will vary depending on your experience, confidence, and preferences, allowing you to build valuable teaching experience in a range of settings.
Key Responsibilities
The desired Cover Supervisor will be able to;
- Supervise and manage groups of children across various year groups, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Follow and deliver pre-set lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, maintaining the continuity of learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, focused learning environment.
- Provide support to children with varying levels of ability, promoting inclusion and positive participation.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting respect, responsibility, and good conduct.
- Report any incidents or concerns regarding behaviour or student welfare to appropriate staff.
- Ensure that students are engaged with the learning materials and are progressing with tasks.
- Provide feedback to the teacher on student progress and any concerns observed during the lesson.
