Europa, our student accommodation building located on Erskine Street, Liverpool is looking to appoint a Maintenance Technician who wants an opportunity to work in a role where they are able to undertake varied technician duties and have accountability along with the wider team for the general presentation of the building.

Working 20 hours per week, you will have the opportunity to discuss with the General Manager a rota’d shift pattern that will benefit all.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring our accommodation is compliant with safety standards through a range of planned maintenance tasks, whilst assisting with general maintenance duties and grounds maintenance. Your duties will include:

  • Fire Alarm Testing: Regular inspections and testing of fire alarm systems.
  • Emergency Lighting Checks: Scheduled testing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems, including the replacement of lamps and light ballasts.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Conducting routine health and safety checks throughout the building to ensure a safe living environment for all residents.
  • Legionella Testing
  • Fire Door & Extinguisher Checks: Inspecting fire doors for proper operation and ensuring fire extinguishers are in place and properly maintained.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Ensuring external areas are safe and presentable, including gardening and refuse & recycling management.
  • General Building Compliance: Regular inspections to ensure the facility meets all required safety standards.

As we work in our residents’ living spaces, you’ll need to be a good communicator who always demonstrates professionalism and can ensure discretion and diplomacy when needed, including maintaining confidentiality regards recording sensitive information.
