Job Title: Patient Pathway Administrator

Location: Alder Hey Hospital, Eaton Road, Liverpool, L12 2AP

Hours: 37.5 per week Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm / 9.00am - 5.00pm

Trust Location: Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust

Role type: Temporary for 3 months with possibility of extension

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Provide a comprehensive administrative service within the Clinical Business Unit. The post holder's main duties will include planning, organising, directing and coordinating the work of the department
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with patients/parents/carers, the general public and all internal and external agencies both verbally and non-verbally in a timely manner
  • Typing of minutes of meetings and general departmental correspondence when required and within locally agreed timescales.
  • Work in conjunction with Consultants and Central Admissions Office in relation to managing waiting lists, admissions, operating lists, adhering to the Patient Access and Bed Management Policy at all times
  • Answering telephone calls and dealing with queries as quickly and efficiently as possible

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • General knowledge of office/administration procedures
  • Customer service experience via telephone
  • Minute Taking and strong typing skills
  • Knowledge of Alder Care system (highly desirable)
  • Enthusiastic, confident approach to change, calm and reliable under pressure
