Hays Education are working with a secondary school in Sefton who are seeking an experienced, qualified teaching assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.

Your new role

This role is working with KS3 and KS4 pupils outside and inside the classroom. The role includes the following:

  • Supporting the class teacher
  • 1:1 and group work outside the classroom with pupils
  • Small group interventions with Maths and English
  • Behaviour management
  • Supporting SEN pupils

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the role, you must have a current DBS on the update service/be willing to apply for one as well as:

  • Level 1, 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification/relevant qualification
  • 1+ years experience within a secondary school (reference needed)
  • Experience running small group interventions outside the classroom
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils
  • Relationship building skills
  • Behaviour management skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding
