Structural Engineer - Project LEader

On behalf of a leading Structural Engineering consultancy in Liverpool, we are seeking a talented Structural Engineer - Project Leader to join their expanding technical team. This role is ideal for an experienced Project Engineer or Senior Engineer with 3 to 6 years of post-graduate consultancy experience.

The consultancy are an industry leader in the UK and, across all 14 offices, is home to around 300 technical engineering staff. They also provide one of the most unique and impressive benefits packages in the entire UK Structural Engineering industry.


As a Structural Engineer - Project Leader, you will be part of a team of 30+ professionals, working within one of four dedicated Structures Teams. You will collaborate on a variety of projects across multiple sectors, including:

  • Healthcare
  • Commercial
  • Industrial
  • Residential
  • Education


Projects range in value from 1m to 100m+, including landmark developments such as Royal Albert Dock, Royal Liver Building, Paddington Knowledge Quarter, and the transformation of the former Littlewoods Edge Lane Building.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead multiple structural engineering projects, from inspection and appraisal of existing structures to the analysis and design of new building structures.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of concrete, masonry, and steelwork in the design and construction of complex structures.
  • Client Interaction: Consult with clients, attend project meetings, and confidently represent the consultancy.
  • Deliverables and Quality: Prepare and issue project-specific deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality processes and deadlines.
  • Mentorship and Development: Contribute to the growth of junior team members, serving as a positive role model.


We are looking for a motivated and dynamic engineer with:

  • 3-6 years of post-graduate consultancy experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong experience in report writing and delivering project documentation.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design software and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Actively working towards Chartered status with a recognised professional institution.
