We're seeking an experienced Educational Psychologist to join our team for locum assessment work, specifically focusing on writing Education, Health, and Care (EHC) reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on children and young people's lives through your expertise and passion for promoting positive outcomes in learning, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
As an Educational Psychologist in this role, you will have the chance to make a direct and lasting impact on students' educational journeys. You'll be working collaboratively with schools, families, and young people to provide targeted support for a range of needs, from learning and communication difficulties to social and emotional challenges.
-
Individualised Assessment & Support: You will assess the specific needs of children and young people, using a wide range of evidence-based techniques, including observations, tests, and interviews. By working closely with schools, you'll ensure that provisions are tailored to each individual's unique requirements, helping them overcome barriers to learning and wellbeing.
-
Group Interventions: You'll also support groups of children with similar needs, creating learning strategies that address common challenges. Your expertise will guide the development of inclusive practices that allow students to thrive in the classroom environment.
-
Support for Educational Systems: Your role will extend beyond individual assessments as you work with schools to enhance their overall inclusion policies. By advising on school-wide approaches and providing insights on best practices, you'll ensure a more inclusive environment for all students, supporting them in achieving their full potential.
-
Collaboration & Expertise: By consulting with teachers, parents, carers, social workers, and other professionals, you'll gather invaluable insights that inform your work. This collaborative approach ensures that your interventions are not only effective but also align with the needs and goals of all stakeholders involved.
-
Targeted Interventions & Emotional Regulation: You'll help schools and families develop effective interventions to support emotional regulation, behaviour, and learning. Whether through tailored learning programmes or specific strategies for emotional support, you'll be instrumental in developing practical solutions that lead to long-term success.
-
Training & Development: You'll also have the opportunity to deliver in-service training for teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals. By sharing your knowledge on staff wellbeing and the relational understanding of behaviour, you'll equip educators with the tools they need to better support their students.
-
Research & Policy Influence: As an Educational Psychologist, you'll advise on educational provisions and contribute to research that shapes educational policies. This element of the role will allow you to influence the direction of educational practices, ensuring that policies and provisions remain effective and relevant.
