Due to our ever-continuing growth and demand for our products, we are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our team on Paint, Wallpaper and DIY.

This is a full-time and permanent, office-based position in our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool L24.

As an Assistant Buyer you will play a key role in providing effective & efficient support in our Buying department. To be successful in this role, it is essential that you can work at pace, have excellent administration skills and an eye for detail.

This is an ideal opportunity for an existing Assistant Buyer or someone in a Buying Assistant position looking to step up to the next level and take ownership of team admin with scope for additional buying responsibilities and a great opportunity to get more involved with product, comp shops, range building etc.

Within this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily management of direct delivery paint orders, POS and associated store queries
  • Keying of price changes and minimum stock levels for promotions
  • Assisting the Senior Buyer in product selection including Wallpaper
  • Eventually responsible for some of your own sub-categories
  • Managing the critical path - chasing samples and relevant paperwork, approval of pre-shipment images and processing shipping documents with accuracy.
  • Managing product set up and order placing - creating codes, updating product information, communicating to suppliers and the Merchandising team.
  • Liaising with Far East and UK suppliers, following up from supplier meetings and range reviews.
  • Creating artwork briefs for own label products.
  • Liaising with marketing, social media and the web team to provide samples and relevant info to highlight DIY products
  • Sample management

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Currently in a Buying Assistant or Assistant Buyer role looking for additional responsibilities and development.
  • Creative eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong Excel experience is essential Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
