Specialising in high-quality residential projects, they are renowned for their innovative designs and commitment to delivering exceptional standards. With a strong pipeline of upcoming developments, they are looking to expand their team to support continued growth.

Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their growing procurement team in Liverpool. In this pivotal role, you will manage the purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services while maintaining cost efficiency. You will work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of key projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating procurement activities for multiple projects across the company's development portfolio.

  • Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.

  • Ensuring all materials and services are procured in line with project specifications and timelines.

  • Managing supplier relationships to maintain quality and ensure on-time deliveries.

  • Reviewing and processing purchase orders, ensuring that all purchasing activities comply with internal procedures.

  • Monitoring project budgets to ensure procurement activities align with financial targets.

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and supplier performance.

  • Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and problem-solving regarding procurement requirements.

  • Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and trends in the construction industry.

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in procurement activities.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, ideally within the construction or property development sector.

  • Strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of supply chain management.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Good understanding of construction materials, products, and services.

  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve procurement issues swiftly.

  • Experience using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • A relevant qualification in procurement, construction, or business would be an advantage.
