Inventory and Purchasing Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Inventory and Purchasing Coordinator to join our well established client located just outside of Liverpool's city centre. This role involves analysing supply and demand to optimise inventory levels, placing orders, maintaining vendor relations, and ensuring the smooth operation of our purchasing department.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Analyse supply and demand to optimize inventory levels for our brands, taking into account seasonal trends and other factors
  • Place orders for products and materials based on inventory needs
  • Enter and maintain purchase details, including supplier information and pricing, in our ERP system, Sage 200
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to foster long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure they meet key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Assess suppliers and negotiate payment terms to secure the best deals
  • Identify potential new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality
  • Monitor shipments from manufacturing sites to company warehouses, arranging and tracking shipments from the Far East, addressing any delays or issues, and keeping internal teams informed
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, shipments, and supplier contracts
  • Inspect received products for quality and quantity, collaborate with colleagues to address product issues, work with suppliers to resolve problems, and implement improvement plans
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory management, purchasing, or a similar role
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
