Your new role
Our client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Liverpool. In this role, you will support the senior Quantity Surveyors with all aspects of cost management, procurement, and project delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their career in quantity surveying, gaining hands-on experience working on a variety of projects within a dynamic and professional team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for projects
  • Supporting the procurement process by obtaining quotes, liaising with suppliers, and preparing purchase orders
  • Monitoring project costs and ensuring they align with the approved budget
  • Assisting with the preparation of tender documentation
  • Attending site meetings and supporting the project team with cost-related queries
  • Preparing and processing payment applications for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assisting in the preparation of final accounts and progress reports
  • Conducting site visits to assess project progress and quality of work
  • Providing administrative support to the Quantity Surveying team

What you will need to succeed:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or working towards)
  • Some experience or internship in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry is desirable
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work well within a team and under supervision
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop within the role
