Your new role
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Liverpool. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take the lead on multiple projects, managing all aspects of cost and procurement. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful financial management of projects, working closely with the project team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing and delivering all cost aspects of a range of projects up to 3 million
- Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
- Conducting site visits and liaising with contractors to monitor progress and identify potential issues
- Reviewing and analyzing project contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms
- Preparing and submitting tender documentation
- Managing procurement processes, including obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, and issuing purchase orders
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
- Preparing progress reports and final accounts
- Ensuring the timely payment of subcontractors and suppliers
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects within the scope, time, and budget
- Managing and mitigating financial risks associated with projects
What you will need to succeed:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Experience working on projects valued up to 3 million
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in using industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, Excel, or similar)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
- Chartered status (MRICS) is desirable but not essential
