About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for graduates to gain invaluable classroom experience by working as a Learning Support Assistant in Secondary schools across Liverpool. This role is ideal for those considering a career in English education, providing hands-on experience before pursuing a teacher training program.

As an English Graduate Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students in their learning, focusing on English Language and Literature. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the academic and personal development of secondary school students, helping them reach their full potential in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and impactful lessons to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help in English
  • Help students with their homework, exam preparation, and coursework
  • Offer support with literacy, reading, writing, and comprehension skills
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior and supporting the teacher in creating an effective learning atmosphere
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to both students and teachers

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in English, English Literature, or a related field
  • Passion for education and helping students succeed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to adapt and learn in a dynamic school environment
  • Previous experience working with young people (in any capacity) would be a bonus but is not essential
