This role is perfect for someone who thrives on helping children overcome barriers to learning and supporting their personal and academic growth.

About the Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have visual impairments and complex needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting individual and small groups of children to access the curriculum.
  • Assisting with the use of specialist equipment and resources tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional well-being in all learners.
  • Implementing personalised learning plans under the guidance of teaching staff and external specialists.
  • Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
  • Contributing to a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with visual impairments or complex needs (desirable).
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
