Responsibilities

Within this role you will be required to support a pupil within the EYFS department. You will be required to support the social and emotional needs of the pupil, as well as supporting them academically. This role is to run throughout the pupils time in school.

  • An understanding of the National Curriculum/Development Matters Framework
  • Be responsible for the teaching of interventions and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
  • Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils' you work with
  • Be aware of pupils' capabilities, their prior knowledge
  • Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs; gifted and talented; EAL; disabilities; and be able to use and evaluate distinctive approaches to engage and support them
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy including the correct use of spoken English
  • If teaching early reading, demonstrate a clear understanding of appropriate teaching strategies e.g. systematic synthetic phonics

Requirements:

A sound understanding of the National Curriculum/Development matters framework

Level 3 TA Qualification

Have a flexible, can-do approach

Ensure your CV covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible (all employment breaks must be explained)

Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and full referencing process

Provide professional references to cover you for at least 12 months within the last 2 years

Have legal right to work in the UK
