Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a number of mainstream secondary schools in the Sefton area who require motivated and experienced Teaching Assistants to support students in all secondary key stages. We support schools with both day to day and long-term contracts with the possibility to go permanent. Ideally, we are looking for someone that can commit to full-time equivalent hours, but part-time options are available.

Your new role

In your new role as a Secondary School Teaching Assistant with Hays, you will have the opportunity to work in one of a number of schools in the Sefton area. As we are currently recruiting for a number of live roles, you will have the opportunity to work in a key stage of your choosing, or you will be given the opportunity to gain invaluable experience with a new key stage. You will work alongside class teachers and your new colleagues to promote a stimulating, inclusive, and accessible learning environment and offer 1:1 and group support in all subjects. Other duties will include intervention and booster sessions, phonics, classroom management, behaviour management and building the self-esteem of your new pupils.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful with your application, you need full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days of referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with children/students
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential.
  • The ability to take a person-centred approach to learning
