About the Role

Vision for Education is excited to offer this specialised training and employment opportunity for individuals keen to start a career in education. We work closely with secondary schools across Liverpool, ensuring that successful candidates receive high-quality training and paid classroom experience.

Once you have completed a successful interview, safeguarding checks, and suitability assessments, we will support you in securing a paid placement within a secondary school setting. You will gain first-hand experience of working with students aged 11-16 and develop the essential skills needed to support their learning and well-being.

Before starting your placement, you will complete a comprehensive training programme, designed in collaboration with Vision for Education and experienced secondary school educators. This will equip you with the key skills required to work effectively as a Secondary Teaching Assistant.

Your Responsibilities

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, your role will vary depending on the needs of the school. You may:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Work with small groups of students to boost their understanding and confidence
  • Provide one-to-one support for students with additional learning needs
  • Assist with behaviour management and encourage positive engagement in learning
  • Help students develop their study skills, motivation, and confidence
  • Support the pastoral care of students, ensuring they feel safe and supported in school
