We are currently recruiting on behalf of Merseyside Police for a Police Staff Investigator within the Firearms department.

Please note, the right candidate will have experience working with Firearms.

This role would be based at Speke. This is a temporary role, working Monday to Friday, 36.5 hours a week. £16.17 per hour.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING CRITERIA, YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.

PURPOSE:

Undertake the investigation of serious and complex crime in accordance with the Investigation Allocation Model supporting Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Investigations in order to increase public satisfaction and reduce the fear of crime.

Knowledge and Experience:

Must have the confidence and communication skills to engage members of the public to locate and recover private CCTV footage.

Must be able to play back CCTV so footage can be viewed in situ during time critical investigations.

Must be able to independently download CCTV footage from a variety of different systems without the need for specialist assistance.

Must have the commitment and flexibility to work beyond core hours in response to serious spontaneous firearms incidents.

Or

Must have recent experience of applying for and interpreting communications data.

Must have recent experience of reviewing and interpreting mobile phone content.

Duties will include:

Recovering and reviewing CCTV.

Applying for and interpreting communications data.

Reviewing and interpreting mobile phone content.

Otherwise assist investigators as directed by the Sergeant.
