We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves working with young people who have experienced trauma and exhibit social and behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with learning/physical disabilities and complex needs, demonstrating flexibility, empathy, and a commitment to promoting independence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Encourage and promote independence among service users.
  • Assist service users in all areas of personal care while maintaining their independence, privacy, and dignity.
  • Support each beneficiary according to their individual Community Pathway, ensuring clear structure and guidance.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with a range of people and professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Respond to and complete necessary paperwork related to service users’ care and progress.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with people with learning/physical disabilities and complex needs is advantageous.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, particularly with individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to encourage, enable, and support service users to make choices, take control of their lives, and increase independence.
  • Proficient in basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Special requirements include being warm, caring, non-judgemental, honest, reliable, and flexible to the needs of service users.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and maintain a high level of empathy.
