The Role:

You will work closely with the teaching staff to support students with a range of complex needs, including but not limited to autismand speech and language needs. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one support to students, assisting them with their learning and personal development.
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Supporting students with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility assistance.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, and providing feedback to the teaching team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
