Liverpool - Responsible Individual (RI)

Are you a hands-on, down to earth Responsible Individual (RI) with a proven track record in Ofsted compliance, therapeutic care, and multi-site leadership? We're opening another EBD children's homes in Liverpool and need a seasoned RI who thrives in autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home meets all Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
* Governance & Oversight: Provide strong leadership and effective oversight of the home, ensuring continuous improvement and development.
* Safeguarding & Child Welfare: Promote a safeguarding-first culture, ensuring the protection and well-being of children and young people.
* Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular visits, audits, and compliance checks, ensuring any issues are identified and addressed promptly.
* Strategic Leadership: Work closely with senior leadership to drive service improvements and implement policies that enhance the quality of care.
* Staff Management & Support: Provide supervision, training, and mentorship to the Registered Manager and staff team, ensuring high standards of professional practice.
* Financial & Resource Management: Oversee budgets, ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining quality care.
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work effectively with Ofsted, Local Authorities, Social Workers, Health Professionals, and other agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children.
* Incident Management: Ensure serious incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns are properly recorded, investigated, and reported as required.
Essential Criteria:

* Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within children's residential care or a similar setting.
* A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
* Experience in safeguarding, risk management, and compliance within a children's residential care environment.
* Proven track record in staff supervision, performance management, and training.
* Enhanced DBS check (required).

Desirable Criteria:
* Experience in setting up a new children's home and obtaining Ofsted registration.
* Strong relationships with Local Authorities, Ofsted Inspectors, and partner agencies.
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic care models.
