Job Purpose: As a Supervised Contact Worker, you will facilitate and monitor visits between children and their non-custodial parents or family members. This role is vital in ensuring the child's safety and promoting healthy family interactions under supervised conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Supervise Visits: Ensure the child's safety and welfare during visits, intervening when necessary to prevent harm or emotional distress.
  • Detailed Reporting: Document observations and provide comprehensive reports that may contribute to court decisions or social services assessments.
  • Facilitate Positive Interactions: Encourage and guide constructive and positive interactions between the child and their family.
  • Enforce Rules and Guidelines: Clearly communicate and uphold the conditions of visitation to all parties involved.
  • Support Children and Families: Offer emotional support and guidance to children and families, helping to alleviate the stresses associated with supervised visits.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in childcare, social work, or a related field.
  • Excellent observational and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to handle potentially stressful situations with calm and professionalism.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Training in child protection, safeguarding, or a related area.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a family services setting.
