Support Worker My Space Protection Against Child Exploitation Location: MerseysidePay rate:  £22.86 per hourOur client is looking for Experienced  Support  Workers to join the My Space Protection Against Child Exploitation  Services within the  Vulnerable People team. In this role you will work as part of a multi-agency team delivering creative interventions for children and young people assessed as suffering harm through Exploitation.  To provide intensive, evidenced based interventions for children and young people using a Trusted Adult, Child First and trauma informed approach.This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore you are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings that are not ‘protected’ (i.e., filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2013. Perfect candidate will be:
  • Relevant social care qualification
  • Flexible and forward thinking in approach.
  • Work in a Social Services Directorate or other Statutory or Voluntary Agency.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for individuals and their families
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Work with a range of client groups within an Agency
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans
  • Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service
  • Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to general social work practice
In this role you will:
  • Co-Work closely with Children’s Social Care Social Work Teams to provide effective interventions as part of ETAC- Exploitation Team Around the Child Approach, delivering planned interventions and approaches to ensure identified risks and needs are reduced for Children and young Person.
  • Work proactively and persistently with young people and families using a wide range of methods and approaches underpinned by a Trusted Adult and Reachable moments practice principles.
  • Contribute to assessment, care planning and reviews ensuring a child centred focus and empowering children, young people and their families
  • To participate in and assist with the co-ordination of care planning for children and young people. To ensure care plans are up to date, followed and met.
  • To produce, monitor and review individualised ETAC and risk assessments for children and young people.
  • Prepare and deliver reports for multi-agency meetings and childcare decision-making forums ensuring an accurate factual record is maintained.
  • Identify and assess levels of risk and need and with support, deliver protective and/or supportive services for children at risk, in need and/or looked after. Take responsibility for reporting of risk properly through the line management and ETAC structure.
  • Demonstrate inclusive practice in relation to identity and diversity, challenging any issues of concern.
