We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Housing Officer on a temp to perm basis on behalf of our national client who provide supported housing services to vulnerable adults. You will be the main lead for housing management & estate services within your patch, supporting on-site Housing Support Workers to ensure the effective & efficient delivery of Income Recovery, Tenancy Support, Estate Management and Legal Duties.

This is a 50/50 hybrid position with 45p mileage paid from home, but will be expected to travel to sites/offices in Liverpool, Wirral, St Helens and North Wales. You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Your new role

  • Monitoring all rent accounts for both current and former arrears, taking direct action where arrears are accruing and appropriate steps to recover income.
  • Ensuring service users are receiving correct Housing/Welfare Benefits, attending joint visits or appointments with HSW's to offer assistance with money matters, debt or benefits.
  • Preparing legal casework & documentation including notices, witness statements and any paperwork for enforcement or ending a tenancy.
  • Co-producing action plans with Housing Support Workers
  • Supporting and advising on anti-social behaviour cases to promote early interventions, liaising with ASB Advisors where appropriate
  • Ensuring all known repairs have been reported, and sites are compliant with health & safety standards
  • Undertaking occasional property visits to ensure service charges are set appropriately

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 2 years' housing management experience including preparing legal casework, drafting witness statements and preferably self-representation
  • Good knowledge and understanding current housing legislation in relation to housing management, tenancy enforcement and homelessness
  • Strong understanding of Welfare/Housing benefits system
  • Experience of dealing with current/former tenant arrears and ability to maximise income and minimise arrears
  • Driving licence with access to own vehicle and valid business insurance What you'll get in return
