We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a number of Housing Support Officers in Liverpool on an ongoing, temporary basis with hourly rates up to £17ph, working 37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday.

Your new role

  • Supporting your own caseload of clients who have experienced homelessness via individualised support plans to regain independence and the ability to sustain their own tenancy when moving on into their own properties
  • Processing and assessing potential new admissions
  • Completing assessments of need/risk, and co-creating support plans with service users with motivating, achievable outcomes that encourage them to move on
  • Offering housing & wellbeing advice and guidance regarding housing options, tenancy sustainment, mental health, substance and/or alcohol misuse
  • Signposting and making referrals to external agencies where appropriate
  • Room inspections, reporting any safeguarding concerns or need for repair
  • Ensuring adherence with tenancy conditions and house rules, challenging non-compliance and taking appropriate action on anti-social behaviour & arrears
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with specialist and external agencies such as Local Authorities, Benefit Agencies, Housing Associations/Private Landlords and charitable trusts

What you'll need to succeed

  • 12 months+ experience working with homeless people or within a supported housing setting
  • Experience and understanding of assessing need/risk, and devising individual support plans
  • Knowledge and understanding of Welfare Benefits system and Property Pool Plus
  • Ability to deal with difficult and complex situations
  • Enhanced DBS
