Position: Children's Workforce Academy LeadDepartment: Practice Academy, Children’s ServicesRate: £46 per hour (inside IR35)Location: Liverpool (3 days per week on-site)Contract: Initial 3-month placementRole OverviewPertemps are recruiting for a dynamic Children's Workforce Academy Lead who is a registered and experienced children's social worker, as well as a certified Practice Educator. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in Children’s Services, with a background in managing and supervising social workers, and a solid understanding of workforce development and training.Key Responsibilities:
  • Workforce Development Leadership: Lead workforce development initiatives within Children’s Services from a practice-oriented perspective, supporting the Head of Service of Workforce Development and Learning.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to Practice Development Officers and Workforce Coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Recruitment and Training: Oversee the recruitment, induction, and training of new team members.
  • Program Development: Design and implement robust training programs, including ASYE, Apprenticeships, and Step-Up pathways.
  • Training Coordination: Plan, design, and evaluate training opportunities for the workforce, ensuring all learners have access to relevant development initiatives.
Role requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Children’s Services with a background in managing and supervising social workers.
  • Strong leadership skills with expertise in workforce development and training.
  • A motivated, creative, and inspiring professional passionate about advancing the Practice Academy's mission.
