Role: Qualified Social Worker, Practice Development Officer (Non-Case Holding)Location: Liverpool City CouncilRate: £42 per hourPertemps are seeking an experienced and registered Children’s Social Worker to join the Workforce Development Team as a Practice Development Officer and make a meaningful impact on the professional growth of the social care workforce.About the Role:In this non-case holding position, you will:
  • Support and mentor learners, including newly qualified social workers, apprentices, and Step-Up programme participants.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke learner programmes to support Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Design and deliver high-quality training sessions rooted in your expertise in children’s legislation, case management, and frameworks.
  • Supervise and mentor social care workforce members and support our Practice Educators.
  • Promote good practice across the organization, conduct audits, and collaborate with the Quality Assurance Service.
Requirements:
  • Qualified and registered children’s social worker with significant experience.
  • Practice Educator qualification and experience in leading Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE) programmes.
  • Strong background in training design and delivery, with a focus on CPD.
  • Proven expertise in supervision, mentoring, and quality assurance.
  • Ideally, prior experience as a Practice Development Officer.
  • Expectation to work on-site at least three days per week (diary-dependent). Candidates must be local to the Liverpool area or willing to commute.
