Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Liverpool City Council's Adoption team with AIM on a part-time basis - 17.5 hours per week for a 12 month Maternity Leave Post. This will be offering a fantastic pay rate of £35 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with children, adoptive families, and professionals to ensure a smooth adoption process, promoting the best outcomes for all involved.
  • Carry out detailed assessments of prospective adopters, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for adoption and are able to provide a safe, nurturing environment for a child.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to adoptive families throughout their adoption journey, from initial enquiry through to the adoption panel and post-adoption stages.
  • Work with local authorities and adoption agencies to identify and match children with suitable adoptive families, ensuring the best possible fit for the child's emotional, developmental, and physical needs.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including Prospective Adopter Reports (PARs) and Child Permanence Reports (CPRs), to be presented at the adoption panel.
  • Attend and present cases at adoption panels, advocating for the best interests of both the child and prospective adopters.
  • Offer post-adoption support services, including therapeutic support, advice on managing transitions, and helping families navigate challenges that may arise after placement.
  • Ensure that the safety and well-being of children are prioritized at all stages of the adoption process, in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate or contribute to training sessions and workshops for prospective adopters to help them understand the complexities and challenges of adoption.
  • Liaise with other professionals including local authorities, health professionals, schools, and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to the child's well-being and integration into their adoptive family.
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate case notes on all assigned cases, in line with legal and organizational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
  • Social Work England registered
  • Enhanced DBS
