RPG Analyst Programmer

Hybrid working

We are partnered with a leading UK organisation in their efforts to recruit a talented and driven RPG Analyst Programmer. The successful applicant will be brought in to develop robust, resilient and effective software to meet company requirements, through testing and developing according to prescribed standards.

Role responsibilities:

• To ensure that all developments are undertaken/completed to the development standard, using the prescribed tools
• Ensure that all developed code conforms to statutory and Company defined rules (GDPR by design, PCI etc.)
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Market awareness of trends and developments and make sure the Company is in a position to take advantage of these when appropriate
• Ensure high availability of all software systems by building robust solutions and monitoring of these solutions
• Any developed code is delivered into the business in a timely fashion and to timescale
• Maintenance of confidentiality of information in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the development and maintenance of information management and record-keeping systems related to areas of responsibility
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and practices
• Other duties in accordance with role and within remit of skill base

Skills required:

• RPG ILE development experience
• ERP development and integration
• Interfacing to existing processes
• CL scripting, screen design and reports
• SQL and DB2/400 data manipulation techniques
• IP, sockets and other communication protocols
• Creation of software specification
• Data, program and process testing
