Senior Software Developer | Liverpool | £70K DOE | Hybrid | C#, .Net / Ruby

We are looking for an experienced software developer with expertise in .Net technologies and Ruby, to join a well established company in the gambling industry. You will join an expanding development team and will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop bespoke software solutions, in line with business objectives. In this role you will have the opportunity both to work with modern technologies and also be involved in the full lifecycle of projects.

The role

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Agile Project Managers, Testers, and Developers, to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs and user stories. You will develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code using C#, .Net, and Ruby, while adhering to coding standards and best practices. As part of an Agile team, you will actively participate in ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. You'll ensure thorough testing of developed features and work closely with the Test team to resolve defects. Additionally, you will write unit and contract tests to ensure comprehensive test coverage and maintain high software quality.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years developing with .Net technologies within a commercial environment
  • Strong knowledge around Ruby
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies, experience in Agile/Scrum
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Desirables

  • Microsoft Azure Cloud and cloud computing architecture, such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Storage Account, Azure Function Apps
  • Proficiency in Terraform
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git
  • Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases
