Prospero Teaching is currently looking for an experienced KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Crosby, Liverpool. This role requires prior experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in KS2. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small-group support, working closely with teachers and SENCOs to ensure students receive tailored learning support.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a KS2 setting
Strong understanding of individualised learning approaches and strategies for supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other SEN needs
Confidence in working 1:1 and in small groups, delivering targeted interventions
Experience implementing EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans)
Knowledge of phonics, literacy, and numeracy interventions to support KS2 learners
Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) preferred but not essential
Experience with PECS, Makaton, Team Teach, or other SEN communication and behaviour management techniques (desirable)
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for KS2 students with SEN, adapting learning materials as needed
Implement individual behaviour and learning plans, supporting children with emotional regulation and engagement
Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure effective SEN strategies
Create a structured and inclusive learning environment, both inside and outside the classroom
Assist with EHCP implementation, tracking student progress and liaising with relevant professionals
Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies to support children with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
Provide two professional child-related references
