Your new companyHays are supporting a Secondary School in Sefton. They require a motivated and experienced learning support assistant to support students across all year groups (KS3, KS4,). This is a long-term contract that will start as soon as possible and the school supports students with a variety of complex needs including ASD, non-verbal, downs syndrome, PDA and GLD. Your new role We are sourcing an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the school's SEN team. You will work with students who have a range of special educational needs, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will provide 1:1 and classroom support, helping students to access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence. You will also work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans and monitor progress. What you'll need to succeed - A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent - Experience of working with SEN students in a secondary school setting - Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - A positive and flexible attitude - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people What you'll get in return You will be paid a competitive daily wage, based on your experience and the responsibilities of each assignment, plus you will accrue holiday pay with the option to take it at any point of the year.
