General Learning Support Assistant (KS2)Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm, Term-Time Only

We are working with a welcoming and vibrant school with a strong community spirit, located in Fazakerley who are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated General Learning Support Assistant to join their team in supporting children within Key Stage 2 (KS2).

About the RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of children with varying needs in Key Stage 2. You will help create an inclusive learning environment, assisting with both individual and group interventions, ensuring all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for children with special educational needs (SEN) and those who require additional help to access the curriculum.
  • Assist with the delivery of both one-to-one and small group interventions, working closely with teaching staff to monitor and assess progress.
  • Support children in their social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Help with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
  • Work closely with the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to ensure effective provision is in place.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate regularly with parents and staff.

  • Passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Patient, adaptable, and willing to use creative strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Experienced in working with children, ideally in a primary school setting (although training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • Knowledgeable about child development and SEN, or willing to learn.
  • Committed to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all students.
