Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)Location: CroxtethStart Date: September 2024Type: Full-Time

Our dynamic and inclusive primary school in Croxteth is looking for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This full-time role involves working 1:1 with key pupils, taking intervention sessions, including PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment), and reading and phonics sessions with pupils with SEN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead targeted intervention groups to support students in achieving their learning goals.
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Take responsibility for whole-class sessions during PPA time or for specific subjects such as reading.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver high-quality educational experiences.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead groups and manage whole-class sessions effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
