Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a Psychology graduate with a strong interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a supportive and inclusive school. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Psychology (or related subject)
A strong interest in child development, SEN, and mental health support
Experience working with children or young people in schools, care settings, youth work, or mental health support (desirable)
Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs
Ability to implement therapeutic strategies, behaviour management techniques, and emotional regulation approaches
Experience with PECS, Makaton, Team Teach, or other communication and behavioural interventions (desirable)
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Work 1:1 and in small groups with children who have SEN and additional learning needs
Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social skills development
Assist in implementing EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and tracking student progress
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide tailored interventions
Use psychology-based strategies to support students with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
Provide a structured and nurturing learning environment to help children reach their full potential
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
Provide two professional child-related references
