Teaching Assistant - SEN Provision (Primary School) - Walton

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our Primary School's on-site SEN provision in Walton, supporting children across KS1 and KS2. This full-time position runs from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, starting on 4th November 2024.

Role Overview:

In this role, you'll work closely with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties (including non-verbal students). You'll play a vital role in supporting these young learners, providing tailored interventions, assisting with communication, and helping to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with SEN in both group and one-to-one settings
  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and intervention activities
  • Communicating effectively with non-verbal children and helping develop alternative communication strategies
  • Collaborating with the SEN team to foster a nurturing and positive learning environment
  • Providing personal care as required

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, or communication needs
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting every child's potential
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to individual needs
