Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" Primary School in Huyton. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 2 student with identified SEN needs. It's an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in students' lives and thriving in a supportive educational environment. The position is required 5 days a week, from 08:30am to 15:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to the student, fostering both educational and social development;
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised learning activities;
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to monitor and support the student's progress;
  • Implement strategies to enhance learning and engagement;
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment;
  • Adapt to the student's specific needs and maintain effective communication with teachers and parents.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN and SEMH needs;
  • TA2 qualification (or equivalent);
  • Background in providing support within an educational setting;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting student development;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members;
  • A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding practices.
