Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a school in Huyton for a full-time Reception 1:1 Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This is a challenging yet highly rewarding role, supporting a child with significant additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive Early Years environment.

The Role

As a Reception 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child in Reception with complex needs, ensuring they can fully access the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Offer tailored support for the child's learning, social, and emotional development, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Be willing to undertake personal care duties, including toileting and feeding, with sensitivity and respect.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining individual learning plans and behaviour support plans in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Promote independence and positive behaviour, creating a safe and welcoming learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, external agencies, and parents to ensure consistent and effective support for the child.

About You

This is a demanding role, and we are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children with complex needs, ideally in an Early Years setting.
  • Is compassionate, patient, and committed to helping children overcome challenges to achieve their potential.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of SEN and the strategies required to support children with additional needs effectively.
  • Is willing to engage in personal care duties as part of the role.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and can build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Is resilient, adaptable, and proactive in their approach to providing high-quality support.
