Your new school
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single-from entry primary school in central Liverpool that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a pupil within the EYFS class on a 1:1 basis. This is a long-term position starting in January.
We are currently experiencing a high demand for teaching assistants across the Liverpool area, if this opportunity isn't quite right we have other fantastic opportunities we can discuss.

Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis within the class. You will be this pupils' main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their grown up(s) at the end of the school day. You will actively encourage this pupil to partake in learning material by liaising with the class teacher and breaking down the learning material into a more digestible manner. As this pupil struggles with social communication, you will also complete role plays with them and integrate them into new pupils' groups which will, intern build and solidify a strong constructive relationship and teach them invaluable social and emotional interpersonal skills.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience working with children and young people, as well as:

  • Previous experience supporting within a school setting
  • Experience supporting SEN
  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous but not essential
