Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with SEND. The successful candidate will work closely with the school's SENDCo, teachers, and other support staff to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a child in reception until 11am, focusing on their individual needs and learning goals.

  • Support a Year 1 pupil in the afternoon, either within the classroom or in a more focused, one-to-one setting outside the classroom.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide comprehensive support for pupils.

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback and adapting strategies as needed.

  • Support general classroom activities and contribute to the overall positive ethos of the school.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a primary school setting.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
