Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are recruiting on behalf of a Special School in Leeds that cater for pupils with Autism, Learning Disabilities and SEMH Issues. The school are recruiting for a full-time Special Needs Teaching Assistant that will work term time only, 08.30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday, term time only. As an Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Class Teacher with delivering the lessons, keeping pupils engaged, managing behaviour and in some cases assisting with feeding and changing depending on the needs of the pupils in the class. This would be an amazing opportunity for somebody that is currently working in Adult Health and Social Care that wants to work with children, as well as working more sociable hours, or for someone already working with children and young people in an educational setting or residential setting.

? Supporting on School trips and outings

? Assisting with feeding and personal care

? Assisting Cass Teacher with delivering lessons

Special Needs Teaching Assistant Non-negotiables:

? Must have recent/relevant experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities either in care or education.

? Must be comfortable providing personal care

? Must have Maths and English C and above at GCSE Level
