The School and Role

This large, all girl's secondary school and sixth form based in Aigburth, Liverpool are looking to appoint a driven and passionate English Specialist to teach KS3 - KS4 levels and work as part of an established team.  This is a full-time role, starting after the Christmas break in January 2025, and will be ongoing.  The school welcomes applications from those with an English Degree, who are looking to share their knowledge with children aged between 11-18.  This Academy school was founded in 1879 and has a track record of providing a safe and friendly place for all students to learn and develop. The schools most recent Ofsted report praised the students for their courteous and polite behaviour that facilitates a respectful classroom environment.

Requirements

The desired English Specialist will;

  • Have a minimum of 5 days experience working in sole charge of a group of children in the last 10 years

  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build a good rapport with students and staff

  • A passion for working with children, in a calm and authoritative manner

  • Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check that is on the Update Service
