Client:

We are currently recruiting a Head of Procurement for a Public Sector organisation in Merseyside. The role will focus on developing their procurement strategy whilst working on strategic procurement projects across a number of different category areas.

Role:

  • Ensure the delivery of a strategic plan in line with the organisation’s vision/value
  • Lead a small team
  • Drive continuous improvement and create social value through your procurement work
  • Liaise with suppliers, stakeholders and your procurement network to keep up to date with market trends
  • Build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop strategies and business cases for new procurement projects
  • Identify areas for added value and cost savings
  • Provide procurement advice and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement legislation
  • Improve performance with innovative supply chain strategies and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Provide commercial advice and strategic risk management
  • Auditing and report writing

Person:

  • Staff management experience
  • Strategic procurement experience
  • Knowledge of Public Sector procurement processes
  • Knowledge of public sector frameworks
  • MCIPS qualified
